With over 20 years of experience in non-profit and foundation management, Carol Olson guides MTC’s overall strategic direction and supports the leadership team to advance the organization’s mission through our programs, partnerships, and community engagement. Carol is passionate about community collaborations and has developed partnerships with non-profit organizations, foundations, schools, and other stakeholders to design systemic solutions that create opportunities and access for youth. Previously, Carol served as director of environment and stewardship programs for the Morgan Family Foundation and as the CEO of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce.

Christy Flahavan
Tutor Program Manager - Los Altos
Christy Flahavan is a Tutor Program Manager with MTC working with our tutors in the Los Altos School District to which she has strong ties as a former student and more recently, involved parent. Christy is an active community volunteer with experience serving on multiple boards and volunteering in programs focused on bettering the lives of youth in our community. Christy’s professional experience has been focused on marketing and corporate communications for both the non-profit sector and medical device industry. In both her professional and personal endeavors, Christy has a passion for partnering with organizations that prioritize improving the wellbeing of those served. Christy is a firm believer in the impact of caring adults on the youth in our community and values her role in facilitating those connections through Mentor Tutor Connection.

Laura Hill
Director of Operations
Laura Hill is a retired executive from the computer industry with degrees in physics and library science and a life-long passion for education and learning. She also spent the last ten years volunteering with the African Library Project — a non-profit organization dedicated to starting libraries in rural parts of Africa. As MTC’s Director of Operations, she particularly enjoys getting to work with the wide variety of interesting and passionate people in both our volunteer and staff communities.

Fionnuala Louhran
Tutor Program Manager - Mountain View
Fionnuala Loughran is a Tutor Program Manager with MTC working with our tutors in the Mountain View Whisman School District. Fionnuala has a finance and program management background in the public and voluntary sector, and has been an involved parent in local schools and an active volunteer in PTA, Girl Scouts and her kids soccer since arriving in the U.S. from Ireland ten years ago.

Elizabeth Maciag
Director of Programs
Elizabeth Maciag brings two decades of focus on local students through volunteer boards, leadership positions and individual roles, to her position as Director of Programs. Elizabeth is passionate about both the students served and the volunteers who make such meaningful contributions to the lives of those students. Previously, Elizabeth served as a volunteer tutor and Mentor Program Manager at Mountain View High School, matching students with caring, supportive adult mentors. She cares deeply about the students served by MTC and the adults who volunteer with dedication and an open mind.

Helen Richardson
Mentor Program Manager- Alta Vista High School
Helen Richardson is the Program Manager at Alta Vista (AVHS), our district’s continuation high school. Her introduction to MTC was as an AVHS volunteer mentor. Helen has an eclectic background that includes experience in advertising, real estate, writing, fundraising and volunteering, as well as owning and operating a portrait photography business for eight years. She continues to offer photography work to non-profit companies, including MTC, where the donation of her services can make a positive difference. With degrees in communication and psychology from Chico State, raising three daughters as a single mom and being an avid reader in the fields of education and psychology, Helen has found that her MTC position taps into her existing strengths and encourages her to broaden her skillset in order to maximize the positive effects of student mentoring for both mentees and mentors.

Jennifer Springer
Mentor Program Manager - Mountain View High School
Jennifer Springer is the Mentor Program Manager at Mountain View High School. Jennifer has primarily worked in the career counseling field, helping adults and youth find employment and advance their educational goals. She is well-connected to the programs that support struggling families & familiar with alternative educational options. Jennifer is a long-term resident of the area and cares greatly for our community. She is a member of the Los Altos Village Association Board because she is motivated to build community and create a downtown for residents of all ages. Jennifer has a long history of being involved in the local PTA. She is currently serving on the Mountain View Los Altos High School Foundation Board. You’ll find her hiking through the foothills or on a mountain bike in her free time, trying to keep up with her teenagers.

Ann Wolff
Mentor Program Manager - Los Altos High School
Ann Wolff has over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has worked in a variety of organizations including the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital and had a private psychotherapy practice for many years. She joined Mentor Tutor Connection as a volunteer mentor in 2016 and has been the Mentor Program Manager at Los Altos High School since 2017. She particularly enjoys the connection she establishes with both the mentors and mentees while she facilitates the mentoring relationship. She is enthusiastic about the benefits mentoring provides not just for students, but for mentors as well. Ann is also a volunteer mentor for the MVLA Scholars Program. She has two college age children and enjoys hiking, reading, skiing and music.
